Bethesda’s September 2026 directors’ letter outlines several upcoming Fallout 76 updates. World Pets are planned for December 2026, while Hideouts target spring 2027. These are announced plans, not features confirmed live today.
Pets leave the C.A.M.P.
World Pets will let existing C.A.M.P. pets accompany players on adventures and gain levels. Bethesda describes commands including following, guarding and attacking, alongside bounty hunting in Skyline Valley.
Hideouts and Raven Rock
Hideouts are intended as team challenges between early endgame content and Raids. A harder Marked option and a rival called the Drifter are also planned. Separately, Bethesda places the Raven Rock expansion in 2027 without naming a precise release date.
What to watch before returning
For returning players, the important distinction is timing: December’s pet update and spring’s team activities are separate milestones. Choose when to return around the activity you actually want, then check the final patch notes for availability and requirements. This is a roadmap summary, not a hands-on review.
Correction: This version replaces fragmented source excerpts with a concise summary and separates the announced release windows.
Our Take
I haven't played much Fallout 76 myself, but I've watched plenty of videos, and it looks like a pretty solid game.
This particular update doesn't really excite me, though. What I'd love to see is a DLSS upgrade or some kind of graphics overhaul, ideally for free.
