Steam currently lists a free weekend for Squad, with access available until September 28, 2026. This is a limited-time trial, rather than a permanent move to a free-to-play model.

Squad is a tactical FPS developed by Offworld, according to its Steam listing. The free weekend provides a chance to try it before deciding whether to buy.
To try it, open the linked Steam listing and use the Play Game option in the free-weekend section. The separate purchase options are for buying the game; taking part in this trial does not mean receiving a permanent free licence.
Check the deadline displayed by Steam before downloading, and leave enough time to install the game and play before the trial closes. Use the free-weekend Play Game button rather than the separate paid editions if the aim is simply to try the game. Access is subject to the offer remaining active on the store.
