TERA Classic+ Is Now Live in Europe
TERA Classic+ is now live, giving PC players another community-run way to return to Arborea more than four years after the official PC version of TERA closed its doors.
The European private server launched on August 21, 2026, as a completely fresh start. Every player begins at level one, the economy starts from zero and no existing characters, equipment, gold or progression carry over from the previous TERA Europe Classic server.
Players who already had a TERA Europe Classic account can use the same login details, while new players can create an account through the project’s website.
What Exactly Is TERA Classic+?
TERA Classic+ is a community-built version of classic TERA running on the more modern 64-bit v100.02 client.
According to the development team, the objective is not to preserve one historical update without changes. Classic+ instead combines the combat, dungeons and world structure associated with earlier versions of TERA with selected mechanics and technical improvements from later releases.
The server removes Apex skills and attempts to recreate a more traditional, pre-Awakening combat experience. The newer client is also intended to provide better performance under load and give the developers more freedom to create custom content.
The project describes itself as free-to-play and “no pay-to-win,” although players should judge the economy and monetization system for themselves as the server develops.
Everyone Starts From Zero
Classic+ is a fresh-start server rather than a direct continuation of the previous Classic realm.
Existing accounts remain available, but characters, equipment, gold and account unlocks do not transfer. Players therefore enter a new economy in which everyone begins again from level one.
The team also states that previously spent Tera Coins and Crazy Coins can be returned as account balance through its synchronization system.
The Original Island of Dawn Returns
One of the most noticeable changes is the restoration of the original Island of Dawn as the starting area.
Instead of beginning on Stepstone Isle, new characters arrive as Valkyon Federation recruits and follow a reworked storyline through locations such as Timeless Woods, Mathar Spire, the Black Rift and the Tainted Gorge.
Players who prefer a more traditional questing route can leave the island and continue near Lumbertown.
The journey from level 20 to level 65 includes eleven rebalanced dungeons, beginning with Bastion of Lok and continuing through familiar instances such as Sinestral Manor, Cultists’ Refuge, Ebon Tower and Kelsaik’s Nest.
The project estimates that dungeon-focused groups can reach level 65 in approximately five to six hours, while regular open-world questing remains available as a slower alternative.
Thirteen Classes Reworked Without Apex
Classic+ includes thirteen playable classes:
- Warrior
- Lancer
- Slayer
- Berserker
- Sorcerer
- Archer
- Priest
- Mystic
- Reaper
- Gunner
- Brawler
- Ninja
- Valkyrie
The classes have been rebuilt without Apex abilities and rebalanced around mechanics selected from different periods of TERA’s history.
Classic+ also introduces additional race and class combinations. Popori characters, for example, can now access Reaper, Gunner, Ninja and Valkyrie. Race-based attack-speed differences have also been removed, allowing players to choose a character without worrying about animation-speed advantages.

New Endgame and Separate PvE and PvP Progression
The launch endgame is built around eight encounters, including four entry-level dungeons, a custom dungeon, two redesigned nightmare modes and a rebuilt Heaven’s Arena boss rush.
PvE progression uses the Mournshard equipment line, while PvP players receive a separate Skyshard progression system.
The two systems remain connected through tradeable materials, but the developers say that PvE remains the fastest route for PvE equipment and battlegrounds remain the most efficient path for PvP gear.
Bellicarium quartermasters also return with dedicated shops for weapons, armor and enchanting materials.
The Launcher Includes Mod Support
The Classic+ launcher also operates as an integrated mod manager.
According to the project, more than 500 visual GPK modifications are available through the launcher, including community-created content and restored modifications from the older 32-bit client.
Shinra Meter and TERA Custom Cooldowns are also supported and maintained alongside the game.
PC Requirements
The minimum listed specifications include:
- Windows 7 64-bit
- Intel Core i3-7100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200
- 8 GB RAM
- GeForce GTX 760 or Radeon R9 280
- DirectX 11
- 100 GB of available storage
The recommended specifications increase the requirements to 12 GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon R9 380.
The project also says that the game and launcher can operate on Linux through Proton or Wine.
Important: This Is Not an Official KRAFTON Relaunch
Players should understand that TERA Classic+ is a fan-operated private server. It is not an official new PC release from KRAFTON or Bluehole Studio, and the project states that it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the original rights holders.
The official PC service of TERA was discontinued worldwide on June 30, 2022, after Bluehole ended active development. TERA’s official console service is a separate product and is not connected to Classic+.
As with every private server, its future availability, support, security and continued development depend on the community team operating it.

For former TERA players who miss Arborea’s action combat, Classic+ may be worth investigating. Just remember that this is a new community server rather than an official return of TERA on PC.
