Counter-Strike 2 gets 3v3 Rush mode in new update

According to Shacknews, Valve’s Counter-Strike has a new faster-paced mode to keep the adrenaline pumping. Rush is a 3v3 skirmish battled across a series of randomly chosen arenas, and it’s available to play now. Counter-Stike 2 has continued to run strong since its official launch in 2023, where Senior Editor Donovan Erskine gave it a 9 out of 10 and concluded that Valve still has fire in its veins for game development.

Polygon also reports that Counter-Strike 2 players now have a chance to get an egg in their weekly drops. While Counter-Strike 2 remains the most played game on Steam, with a massive 24-hour peak of over 1.4 million concurrent players, last month the game dropped to its lowest peak player count since January 2024. Counter-Strike 2 is free to play on SteamOS and Windows PC.

Steam adds that one of the four maps will be randomly selected and the match will begin. Players battle through a series of battle arenas to reach the opponent's castle and win the match. Battle arenas are randomly selected for each match, so no two matches are the same.
