Razer has announced the Huntsman V3 Pro Mini 8KHz, a new 60% gaming keyboard that adds true 8000 Hz HyperPolling and Razer’s full Advanced Input Control suite to the compact Huntsman V3 Pro Mini. Based on its own research, Razer calls it the most advanced analog optical keyboard in the 60% size.
Analog optical switches with Rapid Trigger
The keyboard uses Razer’s Analog Optical Switches Gen 2 with Rapid Trigger and an adjustable actuation point from 0.1 to 4.0 mm, rated for 100 million keystrokes. Razer says factory calibration makes the switches about 2.5 times more accurate than the closest competitor in its internal tests. Each switch is lubricated and sits on a thick foam layer for a smoother, quieter feel.
8000 Hz polling and 0.48 ms latency
True 8000 Hz HyperPolling is eight times faster than the usual 1000 Hz rate. In Razer’s internal testing, the keyboard recorded 0.48 ms average latency, which the company says is 26% faster than the nearest competitor it tested. Snap Flex, Snap Tap, Dynamic Keystroke and Dual Keypress Priority complete the input features.
Built for travel and tournaments
The top case is 5052 aluminum alloy with a brushed finish, and the doubleshot PBT keycaps resist shine and fading. The modifier keys work as arrow keys when tapped. You can change actuation height and Rapid Trigger sensitivity on the fly from the number row and store up to six profiles on the keyboard itself, with no software needed. Synapse Web also lets you adjust settings from a browser.
Jeffrey Chau, Global Esports Director at Razer, said the 8KHz model builds on the original Mini for pro players “because in esports, milliseconds decide who wins.” Razer has not listed a price or release date in the announcement.
