BULKHEAD and publisher Team17 announced that WARDOGS Season 2 lands on October 15, 2026, with four new weapons, a Molotov, four new vehicles, three new buildables, a rain weather preset and an experimental Wager Vendor that lets you bet your own cash on how well you play.
It is the first major update for the tactical shooter, where 100 players fight in three teams over control zones on destructible maps, since it launched in Steam Early Access on September 10. Since then, BULKHEAD says the game has passed three million copies sold and reached a peak of more than 425,000 concurrent players on Steam. CEO Joe Brammer said Season 2 “gives players more weapons, vehicles and ways to play,” and that the team has been working through player feedback since launch.
According to BULKHEAD, the full patch notes, the maintenance window and a Season 2 trailer arrive early in launch week. Exact weapon stats and unlock levels have not been shared yet.
Four new weapons and a Molotov
BULKHEAD lists four new guns for Season 2, together with new attachments so players can tune each one:
| Weapon | Class |
|---|---|
| TCX Spear | Assault rifle |
| M14 | Designated marksman rifle |
| PP-19 Bizon | Submachine gun |
| Evo-3 Ultra | Light machine gun |
The new throwable is a Molotov, an incendiary that splashes fire on impact and damages anyone caught in its radius. You can throw it overarm or underarm, for damage or to deny an area to the enemy.
Four new vehicles
| Vehicle | Role |
|---|---|
| Wolf-110 | Fast, light wheeled transport |
| Wolf-110 Assault | The Wolf-110 with an M2 Browning on a ring mount |
| T-72B3 | Main battle tank, slower than the Leopard but cheaper and far more fuel efficient |
| Flakpanzer Gepard | Antiaircraft vehicle |
Three new buildables
- MG Nest: a manned M2 Browning emplacement.
- Large Shelter: a large metal shelter for vehicles and key assets.
- Wooden Step: a simple wooden step.
BULKHEAD says the three give players more ways to fortify positions and defend key objectives.
Rain changes how fights look and sound
Season 2 adds a rain weather preset. Rain changes visibility, engagement ranges and sound, and it interacts with the environment, including damaged and destroyed buildings. Thunder is synchronized across the whole server, so a strike can briefly mask footsteps for every player at the same moment.
The Wager Vendor lets you bet on yourself
The most unusual addition is the experimental Wager Vendor. You pick objectives, such as kills in the Hot Zone or delivering players to the zone, choose how many deaths you can afford, and stake your own cash. The more objectives you stack, the longer the odds and the bigger the payout. A live tracker above the minimap shows your stake and your progress.

Speaking to IGN, BULKHEAD explained that the vendor has to be unlocked by building up cash first, and that conditions can get very specific, down to headshots, a single weapon and the cost of your loadout. The studio calls it an experimental Early Access feature and says it may pull it during the season if it proves too exploitable.
Our Take
WARDOGS looks like a very good game to me, even though I haven't played it. From what I know, each raid takes quite a lot of time, and right now that isn't for me because I want to play something quick.
Still, it came out of nowhere and made a huge splash. BULKHEAD says it has passed three million copies sold since the Early Access launch on September 10, so it's obviously good. You don't pull numbers like that by accident.
Season 2 also looks pretty good. It lands on October 15 with new weapons, a Molotov and a rain preset, plus that experimental Wager Vendor where you bet on your own performance. That's a lot of fresh stuff for players who are already hooked, and it shows the team is keeping the game moving.

Balance changes and the Lonestar experiment
Weapon damage, recoil and suppression are being adjusted to give each weapon class a clearer role. The Infrared Rangefinder, pulled from the vendor on October 2, returns and now runs on batteries. The Super Heavy Helmet now muffles audio, narrows your field of view and fogs over while you sprint, while Heavy and Super Heavy helmets gain extra suppression resistance.
BULKHEAD is also running what it calls a social experiment for faction balance. The blue Lonestar faction had the lowest win rate in Season 1, so in Season 2 its uniforms are more desaturated and Lonestar players get a cash and XP bonus for wins, plus cash and XP multipliers, for this season only. All faction spawns move on the Bakurani map. Any team at least 40 points behind second place gets 20% off at the vendor, and switching teams late in a match is restricted.
Smaller improvements
The update also improves squad coordination, vehicle handling, controller responsiveness and progression, adds rewards for teamplay and logistics, and brings performance optimizations, bug fixes and server stability work. WARDOGS already supports NVIDIA DLSS on PC.
What it means for players
On October 15, expect new guns and attachments to try, a cheaper and more fuel efficient T-72B3 that gives up some speed, Molotovs for area denial, and rain that can hide your footsteps when thunder hits. The Wager Vendor can pay off big for confident players or cost a lot of cash. Lonestar players have the most to gain this season, and a team that falls far behind now gets cheaper gear to fight back.
