According to IGN, CD Projekt has officially begun development on its new IP, Project Hadar, after completing a multi-year world-building phase.
CD Projekt Red has completed the 'world vision' stage for Project Hadar and has begun work on turning concepts into a playable game. Joint CEO Michał Nowakowski stated that the team now has a coherent vision for the world and its key elements. This marks the first official step in creating a new IP after years of conceptual work.
The studio confirmed it is staffing up for Project Hadar, with over 30 developers already on board and plans to hire up to 50 by year-end. The team is focused on building an open-world experience designed for immersive, emotional gameplay.
Project Hadar is not scheduled for release, and no details about setting, gameplay, or platforms are available. The studio confirmed it is not a sequel, expansion, or remake of existing titles. The next major release is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt expansion, Songs of the Past, due next year.
CD Projekt Red is currently developing The Witcher 4, expected in 2028, and has a planned release of Cyberpunk 2 after that. The studio also intends to release a new The Witcher 3 trilogy within six years, with potential releases in 2031 and 2034.
