Team NINJA has published the results of the Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember Alpha Demo survey, along with a long list of changes planned for the full game. Koei Tecmo still has the sequel set for March 4, 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2, with a day one launch on Xbox Game Pass.

What players said about the Alpha Demo

The Alpha Demo was playable from September 16 to September 30, and the feedback report went up on the official Wo Long 2 site on October 23. Overall, 71.9 percent of respondents rated their experience positively and only 11.1 percent negatively. The Changban field was the best received part of the demo at 73.9 percent positive, and music and sound scored 71.7 percent.

Performance on PC was the clear weak spot. Among players who tried the demo through Xbox on PC or Steam, 50.5 percent rated the optimization negatively and only 24.8 percent positively. Graphics also split opinion, with 49.7 percent positive and 19.8 percent negative.

The Straight Sabre was the most used weapon type, picked by 58.3 percent of respondents, ahead of Jointed Flails at 40.7 percent and the Staff at 32.8 percent.

Changes coming to the full game

Combat gets the biggest overhaul. Team NINJA is widening the timing windows for Deflects and Insight Skills, improving Insight Skill inputs, and restoring more Spirit when an Insight Skill lands. Strong Attacks and Martial Arts will cut deeper into an enemy’s maximum Spirit, and players will be able to switch weapons and cast certain Wizardry Spells while airborne.

Enemies are being tuned too. Critical Blow warnings will be easier to read, and flying foes such as Yayu and Feitouman should no longer escape to spots the player cannot reach.

On the technical side, the studio plans to stabilize the frame rate, shorten loading after Fast Travel and retries, reduce model pop in, and improve textures, distant models and lighting, especially indoors and in dark areas.

Quality of life fixes round out the list: gamepad customization, a larger item carrying capacity, tutorials with video and images, clearer map tools, and online sessions that save progress during cooperative play, let partners roam farther from the host, and offer better matchmaking and stability.

Editions and preorder bonuses

On Steam, the standard edition costs 69.99 US dollars and the Digital Deluxe Edition costs 99.99 US dollars. The Deluxe version adds a digital artbook, a digital mini soundtrack and the Shitieshou Hat. A Season Pass covering two major DLC expansions after launch is also planned.

Early buyers get the Harvest God Armor set, and digital preorders add the Creator Goddess Garb set. Physical copies are coming for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2. The Game Pass version includes none of these bonuses. If you finished the Alpha Demo, keep its save data, because the completion bonus for the full game depends on it.
