Battlefield 6 Season 5 Roadmap Brings Server Browser on December 8

Battlefield Studios says Battlefield 6 Season 5 adds the European Casino map on Nov 10, followed by Server Browser and Platoons on Dec 8.

Season 5 roadmap

The developer says Season 5 is now officially live and described its active development plans through the end of the year. Phase 1 began on Oct 20 with The Battlefield x Dead Space: Convergence Event, which runs until November 10. The studio also lists Season 6 for 2027, with ongoing live-service support and balance passes.

European Casino map

According to the developer, Phase 2 arrives Nov 10 with a new map set inside a European Casino, described as close quarters. It follows the launch of Vegas Strip and Area 51. The studio says a Casino Heist event arrives at the same time and promises more details on both as release gets closer.

Updated existing maps

Battlefield Studios says Phase 3 delivers updated versions of Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City. The team focused on giving players more ways to move through each map, including more separation between HQs, extra gameplay space along the boundaries for flanking, more terrain breaks, and more routes to rooftops and objectives.

Server Browser details

The studio confirmed the Server Browser will launch side by side with the existing matchmaking system and will feature persistent lobbies to keep more players together between matches. It will also be the first tile in the Quickplay menu. Verified and Custom Experiences stay in the Portal section, and a dedicated blog is planned in the coming weeks.

Platoons at launch

Battlefield Studios says Platoons will support up to 100 players at launch, with custom group names and squad tags. The feature gets its own tab in the main menu, where players can create or join a Platoon, set a custom identity and track combined gameplay stats. Playing with fellow Platoon members in your squad earns an XP bonus.

Balance changes ahead

The developer says vehicle balance changes arrived with the first Season 5 update, listed in the 2.1.1.0 Update Notes, and the team is reviewing live data before adjusting armor or helicopters. For weapons, it has looked at nerfing the extended mags on the SCW-10 and KV9 and buffing underused attachments, with a pass scheduled for Phase 2.

Discord Q&A answers

Developers from Battlefield Studios answered 42 questions in a 60-minute live Q&A on Discord, and the update lists the responses. Asked whether Carrier Strike or Gauntlet could return as a limited time event, the team said it has nothing to announce yet but is eager to bring back both Carrier Strike and Gauntlet Fighter Sweep in future seasons.
