Deponia is currently free to keep on Steam, giving PC players the opportunity to permanently add the classic point and click adventure to their libraries.

The game normally costs €9.99 in Europe and $9.99 in the United States. The discount reduces the price to zero until August 20, 2026.

Once Deponia has been added to your Steam account, it will remain in your library after the promotion ends. You do not need an active subscription and you do not need to download the game immediately.

What is Deponia?

Deponia is a hand drawn comedy adventure developed and published by Daedalic Entertainment. It was originally released for PC in August 2012.

The story follows Rufus, a selfish and accident prone resident of Deponia, a planet that has become an enormous garbage dump. Rufus dreams of escaping to Elysium, a wealthy floating city located high above the planet.

His plans change when a woman named Goal falls from Elysium into one of the junk heaps. Rufus decides to help her return home, although his personal ambitions quickly create even more problems.

The game combines traditional point and click exploration with puzzles, dialogue and a large cast of unusual characters. Its visual presentation uses colorful hand drawn environments inspired by classic animated adventure games.
