The Once Human developer announced that the new survival scenario Isles of Abyss launches on October 21 (PT), with servers opening right after the update.
Servers open October 21
According to the official Steam announcement, the system will open Isles of Abyss servers that players, called Metas, can join right away after the version update on October 21, 2026 (PT). The developer says it will ensure sufficient servers are available when the scenario officially launches.
Servers by region
The first batch differs by region. North America and Europe get 4 servers, named Isles_Abyss-X0001 through Isles_Abyss-X0004, which open immediately after the version update. South America, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, and Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan get 2 servers, Isles_Abyss-X0001 and Isles_Abyss-X0002.
More servers and sign ups
The studio says more servers will follow as needed, based on the remaining capacity of existing servers. Sign-ups will not be available in advance, and players can enter directly through the scenario sign-up interface once servers are open. Each Isles of Abyss server has 12 worlds.
Vision and permanent servers
The announcement also covers Vision and permanent servers. The scenario will not include a Vision tag at launch, and the Vision World for Isles of Abyss servers will open later alongside the S5 Vision release. The permanent server is expected to open on November 18, 2026 (PT), before the first batch of servers closes.
Ways in for players
Players have several ways in. Those who want to keep their current scenario can create a new character and skip the New Player Experience. Characters whose scenario has entered the Rest Period can sign up and travel to the server, though that character’s level, supplies, and other data will undergo scenario settlement and restart.
What carries over
Some data carries over. Cross-character sharing data such as Character Cosmetics, Blueprint Level, and Mod Level will not be settled or cleared, according to the developer.
Team up with friends
For groups, the team-up platform lets friends form a sign-up squad in advance, and once the squad leader signs up, all members are guaranteed to enter the same server. Each character can only join 1 Scenario Squad. Xbox players can invite friends through the console friend list, while the feature is still in development for PS5.
RaidZone server
Once Human: RaidZone also opens with the launch. North America and Europe get one server, RaidZone_Isles_Abyss-A0001, opening immediately after the version update with a biweekly reopen cycle. The developer says new servers may open based on server performance.
