Pokémon Unite will shut down on March 23, 2027, The Pokémon Company announced, ending the MOBA on Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.

The Pokémon Company says service for Pokémon Unite will end on Tuesday, March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC. The notice on the game's official website applies to both the Nintendo Switch and mobile versions. In the same statement, the company thanked the Trainers who have played since service started for the Switch version and said it would hold a special event to express its thanks until service ends.
Spending has stopped
VGC adds that Money-making features are already gone. Microtransactions and monthly Unite Club membership payments ended on the day of the announcement, and sales of the Aeos Gem premium currency have stopped as well. Players will not be refunded for Aeos Gems they already hold. They can keep spending those gems until the game ends, so any leftover balance is worth using before the servers close.
November 12 update
An update arrives on November 12 with a special event and a library feature. During the event, players can obtain various items, including Unite licenses and Holowear that have appeared in the game up to now. Insider Gaming adds that the event brings the Unite Coin Exchange, where players swap coins for items that have appeared before, including Trainer fashion items. The team also said it is working on a way to look back at special memories made with your Pokémon.
What to download and when
The Library feature is the only part of the game that will outlive the servers, and it needs a download first. Players must install the update and finish the required library data download before the game shuts down. Those who do can still view certain records and in-game content, and Insider Gaming says the feature also covers the Practice Arena. Everyone else loses access, and apart from the Library the game will no longer be playable.

Our Take
Ending sales on the day of the announcement is the clearest sign this shutdown is final, and it leaves unspent Aeos Gems as the thing most players should act on first. The Library feature is a decent gesture, but it only works for people who download the update in time. We would treat that download as a must-do for anyone who cares about their records and items from the game.
