Arc of Tomorrow introduces the new Atomic Age, while Earthrise takes players from charting the stars to launching missions across the solar system.
Key details
- Arc of Tomorrow is a major free update for Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, launching in 2027. It adds the Atomic Age, a new fourth Age spanning approximately the 1950s through the 2050s.
- The update brings a roster of period-specific civilizations, the return of Gandhi as a leader, and new offensive and defensive nuclear options and units.
- Film Crews search for filming locations to create Great Works of Film, and a new Manufactured Goods system combines specific commodities into resources such as Enriched Uranium.
- Players will also be able to recognize the independence of their Settlements and release them as City-States.
- Earthrise is the game’s first paid expansion, themed around the space race. It runs across the campaign, from early orbital missions around Earth and the Moon in the Modern Age to missions across the solar system from a player-run space agency in the Atomic Age.
- Earthrise also adds environmental systems: new abilities and technologies that change terrain and tile bonuses, and ways to fight back against natural disasters as global temperatures rise.
- 2K says exact release timing will be announced later and is subject to change.
