World of Warcraft: Forever’s Darkspear Islands battleground gives PvP teams two objectives to juggle: holding territory and carrying a central flag. Blizzard’s preview outlines a 15v15 fight where concentrating only on kills could leave your team behind on the scoreboard.

The official battleground breakdown places the islands off Dustwallow Marsh and lists a level range of 30 to 60. The Darkspear Raiders and Theramore Expeditionary Force compete to reach 2,000 points first.
How the scoring works
Teams build points by controlling four capture locations. Holding more accelerates that income. The flag at the center adds another route to score, but a carrier must take it to a base their own team controls.
That structure creates a practical choice: defend what you have, contest another point or escort a flag carrier. The preview explains the rules; it does not prove one route, class or composition is already the best strategy.
Queues, reputation and rewards
Blizzard describes access through capital-city battlemasters or faction bases in the Barrens. The battleground also has faction reputation tracks, vendors, quests and equipment rewards. An Exalted questline leads to an exclusive faction tabard.
When can U.S. players join Forever?
Blizzard confirms the game’s global launch for November 4, 2026, at 3 p.m. PST, which is 6 p.m. EST. Access is included with a WoW Subscription or Game Time. Optional upgrade bundles are separate, and the current beta runs through October 21.
Forever is a desktop World of Warcraft experience distributed through Battle.net. Check the Forever-specific system requirements for your machine rather than assuming every supported operating system from another WoW version carries over. These announcements do not confirm a console version, a Steam or Epic Games Store release, or a separate launch hour specifically for Darkspear Islands.
Will you focus on holding bases or carrying the flag?
