Pearl Abyss has detailed Charting the Unknown, the first paid DLC for Crimson Desert Enhanced, in a new Features Overview video a week before it launches on October 29 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It adds three new storylines, your own ship, underwater exploration, romance and marriage, business management and deeper housing.
New stories and the Great Ocean
Kliff, Oongka and Damiane each get their own storyline, started from the Journal menu after the main story. A separate ocean themed story opens earlier, after the Howling Hill chapter.
All three heroes can dive below the waves of Pywel to find ruins, treasure chests, new creatures and mounts. Diving needs no unlock, but breath runs out, so a diving suit helps. Sailing comes after you set up the Greymane Camp at Howling Hill: a questline lets you get a ship by sending comrades on a shipbuilding dispatch at a port or by buying one from a Fleet Office manager. According to IGN, the new video also shows fights at sea and a ride on the back of a sea creature.

Romance, homes and castles
Building trust with some of the people of Pywel can now lead to romance and even marriage, and close friends may visit an upgraded Greymane Camp. IGN spotted Bari, the Witch of Kindness, among the possible partners.
An upgraded housing mode lets you build a home from the ground up once you finish Luke’s Request in the Grounds of the Sunrise faction quest. After the main story, three castles can also be liberated, claimed and decorated inside and out.

Businesses and a boss gauntlet
You can now rent and run businesses across Pywel, from a restaurant in Vellua to a smithy at Zargan Tankworks, once the region is liberated. For a tougher fight, Garden of Trials sends bosses from your journey at you one after another after the main questline, with special rewards for clearing it.
Is it free? Price and the Enhanced update
No. Charting the Unknown costs 24.99 US dollars (24.99 euros or 19.99 pounds on Steam) and needs the base game. Preorders are open on PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Steam and Epic Games Store, and they include the Charter’s Diving Set for Kliff and Oongka plus the Charter’s Light Diving Set for Damiane.
Crimson Desert Enhanced itself costs nothing extra. It arrived on August 25 as free update 2.00.00 for every owner on every platform, with new cutscenes, more voice languages and all fixes since launch.
The DLC slipped two weeks from October 15 for extra polish. It will not be on the Mac App Store at launch, and Pearl Abyss says it will not be sold in some regions after an age rating review. The September reveal trailer is below as well.
