Razer Clio X: a wireless speaker cushion for gaming chairs

Razer announced the Clio X on September 4, 2026. It is a speaker-equipped head cushion for high-back chairs, designed to provide nearby audio without putting headphones on your head.

What it connects to

The announcement lists 2.4 GHz HyperSpeed wireless audio and THX Spatial Audio. Razer says it can act as a standalone speaker or work in Surround Mode alongside an existing soundbar or 2.0/2.1 system. These are manufacturer-described features, not listening-test results from GamingBroject.

Check power and chair fit

The product page specifies USB-C PD 2.0 power at 15 W or above. A compatible power bank is not included. Wireless audio therefore does not mean that the cushion contains its own battery or needs no power cable. Razer’s adjustable strap is intended for high-back chairs. Check the headrest shape, strap fit and where the cushion would sit relative to your ears. Also check the supported operating system and software requirements for the audio mode you intend to use.

Is it a headset replacement?

It offers a different way to position speakers, not evidence of equal isolation or sound quality. Consider people sharing your room and whether you also need a microphone. We have not tested its sound, comfort or latency, so this is an announcement breakdown rather than a recommendation based on hands-on use.
