Silent Hill: Townfall puts you behind Simon Ordell’s eyes, with a strange pocket television and a new mystery waiting in St. Amelia. Before you decide whether this is your next horror game, GamingBroject’s full video breaks down 10 Things to Know Before You Buy.

When does Silent Hill: Townfall release?

Townfall is scheduled to launch on September 24, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC, with the PC version available through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Those platforms and the date are confirmed in Konami’s latest cast announcement. Xbox and Nintendo Switch versions are not part of the announced launch lineup.

A new story, not Silent Hill 2

This is a standalone psychological horror game developed by Screen Burn, formerly No Code, and co-published by Konami and Annapurna Interactive. The studio’s earlier work includes Stories Untold and Observation.

Simon returns to St. Amelia with fragmented memories and unsettling broadcasts drawing him into its past. Konami describes the setting as a fictional Scottish island and says the standalone entry welcomes newcomers as well as returning fans. You can read that confirmation in the September showcase recap.

Why the CRTV matters

The CRTV is more than a piece of retro scenery. This handheld television can help locate nearby threats and pick up broadcasts that reveal story information or offer guidance.

Townfall is played entirely in first person. Exploring, examining clues and solving puzzles sit alongside encounters in which fighting is only one option. Melee and ranged weapons are available, but hiding, distracting enemies and escaping also matter. The developers explain these systems in their official gameplay breakdown.

The GamingBroject take

What catches our attention is how the CRTV connects exploration, danger and storytelling. A tool you actively consult could make uncertainty part of each encounter, rather than leaving it entirely to atmosphere.

That is the promise we want the finished game to deliver. Trailers cannot establish how well the puzzles flow, how combat feels over several hours or how consistently the game performs on each platform. Those questions need hands on testing, so this preview is not a scored review or a recommendation to preorder.
