Cult of the Lamb Hits Switch 2 on October 22, Free for Switch Owners

Cult of the Lamb is getting a dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 version. Cult of the Lamb will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 22, 2026, with a free upgrade for existing Switch 1 owners, developer Massive Monster announced on X.

A free path for existing Switch players

Massive Monster’s post says that cultists who already own the game on Switch 1 can upgrade for free. There is no separate paid upgrade pack, so anyone with a Switch 1 copy simply gets the new version at no cost.

Newcomers will pay the same as they would for the Switch 1 release. Siliconera lists the base game at 24.99 US dollars, the Woolhaven expansion at 16.99 US dollars on its own, and The One Who Waits Edition at 59.99 US dollars. That bundle packs the base game, Woolhaven and the Cultist, Heretic, Sinful and Pilgrim packs together.

What we still do not know

Massive Monster has not detailed what the Switch 2 hardware brings to the game. The announcement does not mention resolution, frame rate, mouse controls or GameShare, so it is unclear whether the new version is mainly a performance boost or something more. It also has not been spelled out how DLC bought on Switch 1 carries over, so expansion owners may want to wait for more details before launch day.

A cult that keeps growing

Published by Devolver Digital, Cult of the Lamb first launched in 2022. You play as a lamb who starts a cult in a land of false prophets, gathering a loyal flock, exploring randomly generated regions, battling enemies and rival cult leaders, and leading rituals and sermons back at camp. The game is already available on PC, macOS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Switch, and it has kept growing through updates and DLC, including the Woolhaven expansion earlier this year.
