S-GAME has confirmed that Phantom Blade Zero will get boxed PlayStation 5 editions in 2027, revealed at the very end of the official launch trailer. The digital release stays on schedule, with the action RPG arriving on PS5 and PC on October 28 at 7 p.m. PT, which is October 29 in Europe.
Three PS5 disc editions are planned
The trailer landed on the game’s official YouTube channel and X account on the evening of October 21, US time, with a short teaser from the studio: “One more thing: the PS5 physical edition arrives in 2027!”
The closing card shows three retail products: a Standard Edition, a Deluxe Edition and an Ultimate Edition that comes in a collectible steel case. No boxed PC version was shown.
Plenty is still unknown: S-GAME has not shared a date, prices, edition contents beyond the steel case, or retailers. The disc is another open question. According to Wccftech, citing the PlayStation Game Size tracker, the PS5 download is close to 135 GB, more than one 100 GB PS5 disc holds, and the studio has not said whether the boxed version will use two discs or an extra download.
That is good news for collectors. Earlier this month, Wccftech reported that retailer Play-Asia had removed its PS5 listing after being told no physical version was coming.

Digital launch times and editions
Phantom Blade Zero unlocks on October 28 at 7 p.m. PT and 10 p.m. ET in the US. In Europe it goes live on October 29 at 2 a.m. in the UK and 3 a.m. CET. Preloading opens two days earlier, on October 26 at 7 p.m. PT.
The game is coming to PS5, where it is PS5 Pro Enhanced, and to PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Two digital editions are available to preorder:
- Standard Edition, 59.99 US dollars: the full game.
- Digital Deluxe Edition, 69.99 US dollars: the full game plus two exclusive outfits, a digital artbook and the digital soundtrack.
Preorders unlock the Treasure Basin accessory and the Legacy outfit early, and both can also be earned in game. The launch was first set for September 9 before S-GAME moved it to late October for extra polish.
What Phantom Blade Zero is about
Built in Unreal Engine 5 and published by S-GAME itself, Phantom Blade Zero casts you as Soul, an assassin framed for his master’s murder and left with only 66 days to live. He roams the Wulin, the martial world, to uncover the conspiracy behind it.
The studio calls its style kungfupunk, mixing classic wuxia cinema with mechanical prosthetics, industrial ruins and rock music. Combat is rooted in real martial arts, with more than 30 primary weapons and over 20 Phantom Edges taken from defeated foes.
