Conan Exiles Enhanced Gives PS Owners a Free PS5 Upgrade

Funcom is bringing Conan Exiles Enhanced to PS5 in early 2027, free for everyone who already owns the game on PlayStation.

Announcement and timing

Funcom revealed the plan on the PlayStation Blog, saying it has just launched Dune: Awakening on PlayStation 5 and is only getting started. Two more open-world survival games are next: Aloft and Conan Exiles Enhanced, both coming to PlayStation 5 in early 2027. The publisher has not named exact release dates yet. It says those details will come at a later date, so players only have the window for now.

Who gets the upgrade free

Anyone who already owns Conan Exiles on PlayStation will receive the Enhanced version for PS5 at no cost. Funcom also says both PS4 and PS5 versions will be available to purchase, and buying one version gets players the other for free. Purchased Bazaar items and DLC carry over from PS4 to PS5. Players do not need to rebuy that content to keep it on the newer console.

What Enhanced changes

The Enhanced edition brings improved environments, characters, lighting and effects, along with a redesigned UI and performance and quality-of-life improvements. Funcom says the update also makes exploring the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah expansion smoother. Isle of Siptah remains a separate purchase, so owning the base game does not include that expansion. The post describes the Exiled Lands as brutal, yet beautiful.

The console launch of Conan Exiles Enhanced will include the new Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc. Funcom says console players get it from day one. The arc has players uncover the mysteries of the ancient Giant-Kings and explore their forgotten legacy, with new challenges, discoveries and rewards along the way. The publisher presents it as a major story arc that console players will not have to wait for.

Aloft joins the lineup

Aloft, a cozy co-op sandbox survival game in the clouds, makes its console debut with Funcom as publisher. Developer Astrolabe says the PS5 version includes every update from the PC Early Access period plus the 1.0 experience. Since Early Access began, the game has received five major content updates covering new wildlife, puzzles, combat improvements, glider customization and expanded exploration.

Our Take

The free upgrade and the cross-buy between the two PlayStation versions are the strongest parts of this announcement, because they remove the usual reason to hesitate on a re-release. Owners keep their Bazaar items and DLC, so the move looks painless. What we want to see next is the release date and whether Isle of Siptah being a separate purchase draws complaints from players who expect the full package.

Life in the skies

In Aloft, players turn floating islands into skyships, build a home among the clouds and explore a colorful open world alone or with friends. Astrolabe says the adventure also involves discovering lost knowledge, curing fungal corruption, caring for animals and braving hurricanes while restoring the ecosystem. The team says it grew over six years of development from a small group of friends, and calls the console launch a new chapter.
